I dare to dream, thanks to you!

Priya is 16 years old and is in the 9 th grade at Bloom Mercy School. In her free time, she listens to songs and spends time studying . She has a younger brother and sister. Her mother is a housewife and her father is an electrician’s assistant. If he is able to get work daily he can earn up to $5 a day to provide for their family’s needs.

My favorite thing about Bloom Mercy School is that they care for us a lot. They want us to study well and they want us to go to greater heights. I don’t know another school that cares like this.
They treat us like their own children.

I’ve been studying at Bloom Mercy School since PreK, and I have a lot of friends here.

My favorite Teacher is Ms. Vinitha. She helps us practice songs, and she helps us build our knowledge. My favorite subject is math with Mr. Ramanji.

When COVID-19 first hit, they gave us holidays, and we felt very happy! But then there were a lot of problems. It was difficult to clear doubts in Zoom classes. [Clearing doubts, in India, means
to ask questions and get clarifications.]

My family didn’t have enough phones or data for 3 kids to be in online classes. It was so helpful that Bloom Mercy School provided us with tablets for learning.

For our family, it was very difficult because my father did not have any work. Our school provided some extra funds for us, and so we were able to manage.

The most difficult part for me was not being in school and not being able to leave the house. Now it’s all fine because we are coming to school, and I really missed it.

When I grow up, I want to help the poor because they suffer a lot. I want to study well and help them by becoming a doctor who treats patients for free. I know I have to study hard for that. Or
I may become a veterinary doctor because I love animals.
