We have seen it with our own eyes. Children, mothers, fathers, and whole communities transformed through learning. Not just a world-class education, but investment that goes beyond the books.
Poor Indian girls are often sold into marriage and may endure severe abuse, rape, and exploitation by their husbands.1 Our school community promotes female education through college.
The 2011 national census reported 10 million child laborers, aged 5–14.2 Access to quality education and social support keeps these children in school, instead of the quarry.
35-60 million children are not attending school.3 Bloom India schools provide scholarships for underprivileged children to attend high-quality schools allowing them to break the cycle of poverty and provide for their families.
It is estimated that 1 out of 4 victims of human trafficking are children.4 When you are in school, you are known. Bloom India schools provide a valuable social network for these children and families.
